Belize Ratifies the Kigali Amendment
Belize has ratified the Kigali Amendment to the Montreal Protocol, bringing the total number of countries who have ratified the amendment to 155.
Countries that ratify the amendment commit to phasedown the production and consumption of hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs) by 80% in the next 30 years.
It is hoped that the global implementation of the Kigali Amendment will result in an estimated 80 billion tonnes equivalent emissions by 2050.
