Guatemala Ratify the Kigali Amendment
The Republic of Guatemala are the 156th country to ratify the Kigali Amendment to the Montreal Protocol.
As the first country to ratify the Amendment this year, Guatemala have committed to phasedown the production and consumption of Hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs) by 80% in the next 30 years.
It is hoped that the global implementation of the Kigali Amendment will prevent an estimated 80 billion tonnes equivalent emissions by 2050.
