A-Gas provides lifecycle refrigerant management solutions for used refrigerants. We recover the refrigerant from the cooling systems or the original containers and send it to an A-Gas facility for safe destruction.
Through these actions, we prevent the release of ozone-depleting and global-warming refrigerants from entering the atmosphere.

A-Gas PyroPlas, a market-leading destruction service, ensures that no, or very few, remaining Ozone Depleting Substances (ODS) or Hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs) enter the atmosphere.
According to Project Drawdown, the management and destruction of refrigerants already in use is one of the biggest opportunities to prevent climate change. Effective refrigerant management, including destruction, could save the equivalent of 57 gigatonnes of carbon dioxide emissions between 2020 and 2050.
Through our proprietary PyroPlas plasma arc technology or approved partners, A-Gas enables refrigerant gases to be safely destroyed, embracing the principles of lifecycle refrigerant management (LRM).

Carbon Credits
For over 10 years, A-Gas has operated its market-leading destruction equipment to safely and successfully destroy thousands of tons of damaging refrigerants. To fund this work, A-Gas creates carbon credits which are purchased and used by organisations to achieve their wider carbon reduction plans.
A-Gas’ compliance and voluntary carbon market credits are generated from the safe destruction of Ozone Depleting Substances (ODS). Our methodology, development and project verifications are carried out under internationally recognised registries, such as Verified Carbon Standard (VERRA), Climate Action Reserve (CAR), or American Carbon Registry (ACR).
