State & Federal Regulations

California State Bill 1206 (SB 1206) Regulations
In 2022, California passed State Bill 1206 (SB 1206), which prohibits the sale and distribution of bulk HFCs or HFC blends exceeding GWP limits. The law went into effect on January 1, 2025. You can learn more on CARB's website.
Reclaimed products are exempt so long as they are sourced from an EPA-Certified Reclaimer, which A-Gas is proud to be.
A-Gas' Certified Reclaimed products meet the following criteria:
- ASTM Certified
- Contain at least 100% Reclaimed Material
- 99% Minimum Purity

New York Codes, Rules, and Regulations (NYCRR) Part 494
Similar to the California regulations, New York Codes, Rules, and Regulations (NYCRR) Part 494 and Part 495 set standards and reporting for fluorinated greenhouse gases (f-gases) with a 20-year Global Warming Potential (GWP20) value that is greater than 10.
The law is likely set to go into effect in January 2026. Reclaimed products are exempt so long as they are sourced from an EPA-Certified Reclaimer, which A-Gas is proud to be.

We use CylTrak® and Gas-Trak Online® (GTO), which are our proprietary and industry-leading cylinder tracking and management system. By scanning this barcode, we can trace everywhere this cylinder has been since the day it first arrived at one of our facilities. We can track what products are in it, what has previously been in it, and the certifications for the gases. This is also how we can ensure that all of our A-Gas-owned cylinders are within the DOT test date.
